Altitude Tips

You're at 9,545 ft. Most guests feel it the first 24 hours. Drink twice the water you normally would, ease into the first hike, and skip the second cocktail on arrival day.

Welcome to Mountain Village.

Thank you for choosing Mountain Lodge Telluride as your basecamp for adventure, rest, and relaxation. Our goal is to make your stay here among the most memorable of your travels.

Our team is passionate about this place we call home. We've done our best to anticipate every need before your arrival so you can settle in and focus on enjoying all that Telluride has to offer. Locals here are some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet — we encourage you to mix it up with them to find the best restaurants, trails, and hidden gems.

Your Room & The Lodge

How do I get to my room from the lobby?

The hillside is real at 9,500 ft. Call the Front Desk and we'll send a Gator to pick you up — lobby to your suite, pool back to your room, gym, gondola, valet, anywhere on property. Complimentary, on request, ext. 0 from your room or (970) 369-5000.

What's the Wi-Fi password?

Network: mtnlodgetelluride. Password: enter your room number, or "Guest" (capital G) — either works.

Tech support: (970) 870-1818 if anything's misbehaving.

When is check-in / check-out?

Check-in is 4:00 PM. If your room is ready earlier we'll happily get you in — call ahead the morning of to ask.

Check-out is 11:00 AM. Need a late check-out? Call the Front Desk — we'll accommodate when we can.

Where do I park?

We're valet-only — the lot's tight and the lodge fills up. Hand your keys to the valet on arrival; they'll keep your ticket on file.

To retrieve your car, tap Request Car on the home screen — it opens mountainlodgevalet.com where you enter your valet ticket number. Or call (970) 369-5000 10 minutes before you want to leave.

Are pool & hot tubs open?

7:00 AM – 10:00 PM, daily. Heated outdoor pool, two hot tubs, San Juan views. Towels at the pool deck and in the lobby locker rooms.

In summer there's cocktail service and a full menu on the deck.

Is there a fitness center?

Yes — open 24 hours, lobby level. Cardio, strength, free weights, plus a steam room. Locker keys at the Front Desk.

Are pets allowed?

Yes — we're pet-friendly. $50/day per pet (max $150/week, up to 2 pets). Pet beds and water bowls available at the Front Desk.

Pets aren't permitted in F&B outlets, fitness center, or pool areas — service animals always welcome. The gondola has designated pet-friendly rooms.

What's the smoking policy?

100% non-smoking indoors, including balconies. Designated outdoor smoking areas exist around the property — Front Desk can point them out.

What are Alloy Kitchen's hours?

Breakfast 7:30 – 11 AM · Lunch / All-Day 11 AM – 5 PM · Dinner 5 – 9 PM. Daily. The bar's open year-round.

Reservations recommended for dinner — book on OpenTable from the Alloy Kitchen tile or dial ext. 6021.

Can I order room service?

Yes — Lodge Dash, 7 AM – 9 PM. Order through the Toast link on the home screen ("Room Service" button) or in the Alloy Kitchen tile.

Is breakfast included?

Not included with the room rate by default — Alloy Kitchen serves an à la carte breakfast 7:30 – 11 AM daily. Some package rates include breakfast — check your confirmation or ask the Front Desk.

Where's the nearest grocery store?

Mountain Village Market is right at the Market Gondola stop — three minutes from your room. Our shuttle stops there (Stop 1).

Getting Around

How do I get to town?

The free gondola — runs 6:30 AM to midnight, ~13 minutes to downtown Telluride. The only gondola of its kind in North America, voted #1 transit in America. No fare, no schedule, no driving.

Pet-friendly rooms available, and bicycles + skis are welcome.

Can I get a ride to the partners or around Mountain Village?

Yes — our complimentary lodge shuttle covers 3 Mountain Village stops: Market Gondola, Blue Mesa, and the Mountain Village Core (Centrum). Black Tie and Telluride Outfitters are at Blue Mesa and the Market.

To request a shuttle or Gator pickup: tap Request Ride on the home screen (it calls the Front Desk directly), or dial (970) 369-5000.

Can I rent a car here?

I feel off — is it the altitude?

Almost certainly. You're at 9,500 ft — roughly 15% of guests feel headaches, shortness of breath, or mild nausea the first 24 hours.

Is the sun really that strong here?

Yes — high-altitude UV is significantly stronger than at sea level, even when it's overcast. Sunscreen every time you're outside, regardless of the season. A bad burn can derail a perfect trip.

Is the lodge family-friendly?

Very — pool deck, big family suites, kids' menu at Alloy Kitchen, kid-rate pricing on all Telluride Outside tours (12 & under), and a kid-safe disc golf course at the top of the gondola.

Can you help with childcare?

Yes — the concierge maintains a list of vetted local sitters and licensed childcare providers. Text the Front Desk a couple of days ahead so we can confirm availability.

We're a group / family reunion / corporate retreat. Can you host us?
